I am taking advice from fellow members and starting my own thread! After having various nano tanks from 6 gallons to 40 gallons, I took 4 years off. All my previous tanks had been great, and I learned more and more from each one. I left Manhattan and had to sell everything, and now I am in sunny Miami. Finally getting back into the hobby. I always wanted a large tank, but didn't have the cash or room. This time I wanted to do it right! It is going in my den so can see it while I am on the couch relaxing (watching tv or watching my newborn son crawl all over the place).

Here is what I have planned thus far:

Red Sea Reefer 450 with white stand
3 of the AquaIllumination 26 HD LEDs
Vertex Omega 180i Skimmer
Vectra M1 pump
Apex Neptune Controller
Apex DOS system
Neptune WAV system

Soft Corals and LPS
Various fish and inverts

Plan to use Carib Sea Life Rock and Worldwide Live Sand

Excellent! I'm excited to watch your build as well!

Hey Matt!

Package arrived today! Getting closer. Plumbing hopefully begin next week! Thank you to Broadfield for all of his help! Something tells me I am going to go crazy trying to hook all of this stuff up! First need to figure out if I can run a cat5 in my attic and down the wall to the stand vs. wifi hookup.

No problem man, just let me know if you end up needing any other product or help with anything!

Yeah, the Vectra is basically dead silent. I had an issue with mine and had to swap in my old Sicce Syncra Silent 5.0 temporarily. I remember thinking the Sicce was insanely quiet, which it is... but not as quiet as the Vectra!

Small update! Thankfully I was able to run a cat5 wire from my router up the attic and down the wall by my tank! No basements here in Miami, so it wasn't easy. This will make controlling my apex much easier as I was concerned about the wifi ability and all the potential issues that can come with it. Plumbing is starting today and I am about to purchase a QT setup. Learning about proper QT and how to set it up now with the great articles on here.
Thanks for following along!
I do have to bother Broadfield once again for advice on how to make the cabinet so clean looking with all the neptune controllers, etc!
