I'm getting ready to start a freshwater tank alongside my reef tank. Does anyone know if the pods that we use for reef tanks can live in freshwater as well?

There are indeed copepods that live in freshwater, but they are distinct from marine copepods. If you were really dedicated to this science experiement, it would probably be best to start a marine tank and then gradually dilute with freshwater. If you plunge marine copepods into freshwater, I think you'll end up with dead pods.

There are species that grow in saltwater that can be found in tide pools. The upper pools get a lot of rain and end almost 100% fresh water sometimes. I doubt anyone sells those as they are pretty large.
