So I got this guy on Friday from LFS. I did see him eating and looked healthy. After reading some QT nightmares with CBB I decided not to QT. Yesterday I noticed some spots just on the fins, today he has spots all over. I’m hoping it’s just Lymphocystis not sure tho. None of the other fish are showing spots.

If it is Ich the other fish will show the same spots after a few days right?

It looks like ich on the body and some lympho on the fins to me.
So what should be my plan? If it is ich it’s too late to pull the CBB now. Should I wait and see if the other fish get infected?

It’s possible the spots were debris. Sometimes after handling fish their slime coat seems to get messed up and stuff can stick to them. Especially if being chased around the tank. Ich wouldn’t have came and gone that quickly but it’s still pretty likely that the fish is carrying ich. Big risk adding a copperband straight to the display.

I’ve been rolling the dice and not QT the last few fish. The only problems I have is the tangs attacking new fish. I just lost a new parrot fish because of a nasty attack from the purple tang. I’m really debating getting rid of both of my tangs.

Copper band butterfly is looking spot free but one week later the same spots are now on fox face and yellow tang. Yesterday they had no spots now they have a lot could this be Ich or is something stressing my fish?

So if this clears up tomorrow does that mean it’s not Ich and is probably velvet?

I’ve already started a 55 gallon tank for the 72 day observation after some kind of treatment. I’m thinking using the TTM because of some wrasses. Can I TTM all the fish at the same time? If so what size tanks should I use?
fox face
Yellow tang
Blenny
Copper band butterfly
Three leopard wrasses
Cleaner wrasse

It looks like velvet on your copperband to me in the 4th pic but on the foxface it looks like ich. To be safe I would use CP or copper and not TTM. I have never attempted to use TTM on that many fish before but Im sure it can be done.

I’m still trying to figure out the best way to get all the fish into the 55 gallon that will be copper free for three months. Or maybe just get all the fish in the 55 and treat with copper for the first two weeks then remove the copper?

I would treat at therapeutic levels for 15 days then transfer to another 55g tank at least 10ft away and observe for anything else and wait out the 76days till you display is ready.

That sounds like a good plan. Should I take some water, sand and rocks from DT or just use all new water and sand?

You can, it should help to establish the QT quicker if youre not using a bacterial additive. If using something like turbostart its not needed. I always use sand in a plastic container when QTing wrasses. Just watch copper levels if adding rock or sand bc they will absorb the medication and obviously do not add it back to your DT.
