I do have four ten gallon tanks if I should separate the fish?

I personally like using the largest tank I can get my hands on and then add eggcrate as a divider. Makes water changes and other maintenance easier than using multiple tanks.

Well over night 99% of the spots are gone again. Does this sound like Ich or velvet? My QT is just about ready but I don’t want to stress the fish if it’s not needed!! None of the fish are flashing or rubbing the rocks. Everyone is eating well

It does sound more like ich but not sure I would take the risk and gamble to find out which one it is with velvet being so prevalent in the hobby now. I know it’s tough to pull them and QT but in my opinion you’ll be better off going forward for the long term health of your fish.

I decided to sell the purple tang and yellow tang back to lfs. I setup two ten gallon tanks with water, sand and rock from DT. I’m using ionic copper slowly to bring up to therapeutic levels. The tank with four wrasses I’ll stop just short of the full therapeutic levels. Everyone is eating well and looking healthy but this is a lot of fish in two tanks how often should I be changing water? I haven’t seen any ammonia show up yet.

All the fish will be moved to a 55 gallon tank in 15 days.

All the fish made it through 15 days of copper and now have been in the 55 gallon tank for two weeks without copper and no sign of ich. I took advantage of this fallow time to rip clean the 120 gallon DT. 100% new water and rinsed the sand. I setup a new 55 gallon tank with new sand and all the rocks from DT that had ich or velvet. I’m done with the rip clean and I still have this new 55 gallon tank running no rocks but I left the new sand. I’m wondering if I should move the fish to the new 55 gallon tank that had the rocks from DT? I still have plenty of time left of the 76 day fallow to run the fish through copper again if needed but is it worth the risk? December 10th was the day I got the fish out of DT.

Thanks. It was a lot of work but well worth it! The tank looks really good and I’m getting excited to get the fish back in DT. If I wait till next Tuesday it will be 6 weeks and should be good if it was velvet. Putting the fish in the new 55 at the six weeks and watch them for three weeks should tell me if it’s ich or velvet?
