Ugggh!

Of all the times for the shipping department to muff one . . .

Copper dosing should be ramped up unless it's an emergency. Velvet won't always allow time for ramping, but ich usually does. Then again ... you've been waiting a while already . . .

Yeah - that is what is baffling me. I have been reading other threads and it seems like velvet is a fast acting killer if left alone. All the fish are eating and I don't see any spots currently. Is it possible that they just had sand on them in the display? They have been in QT for almost 5 days and I have not noticed anything except for the stringy poop. The clown looked like it had something yesterday but not today. I did lose my tang but I am fairly certain he was not eating properly. I saw him grazing on the rock but he never seemed to eat flake, pellet, mysis, nori, or brine. I am thankful that they are doing well but it makes me feel like I may have jumped the gun.

I did mix some brine, mysis, API cure and Focus together tonight and feed it. They all ate very well. I know I need to go ahead with the copper since I saw spots but it is a bit confusing.

I lost the cardinal tonight. Not Sue why... Never saw spots on him and he had been eating. Sadly, my wrasse is acting strange and was not as active at feeding time... I fear he won't make it to the copper treatment or won't be healthy enough to make it.

Maybe someone can tell me if I have bad luck or what I did wrong but I lost all but my chromis today... I noticed the wrasse brething heavy and some white stringy stuff on the clowns this morning so I went ahead and treated the water with general cure this morning. It said to use 3 packets per 10 gallons of water so I poured 2.75 packets into a container of tank water and stirred it up - then poured into the tank. I have a camera on the tank and noticed that there was one fish on the bottom at lunch and could only see the chromis swimming.

My copper is here today but it looks like it is too late. Did I overdose on the Cure or did time run out on me? Bummed...

Possibly, but it was not near as pronounced. They were eating yesterday and they looked normal when I removed them. Would the general cure do anything with Brook?

Any chance you had a problem with the copper test kit and overdosed the copper medication you were using. I've never used that particular copper medication, I've always gone with Cupramine (just what I started with so I've stuck with it).

Also, just as an fyi, I'm not saying your fish don't have an internal parasite but the initial photo that you showed with the stringy poop can occur (I've read) when a fish is stressed or fasting - not always an indication of an internal parasitic infection.

The Kordon copper did not even register under the normal dosage. Anything is possible at this point though. Feel bad for pulling them out now.

If there were no parasites, would dosing the general cure be able to kill? I do want fish in my tank so it would be good to figure this out :(

It contains metro, so it would help. But you need to treat with metro every 48 hrs for at least 10 days (to eradicate brook.)

I would have expected to see somthing more pronounced or the lack of appetite but maybe that is not the case.

I did treat the food 2 days ago and then the water this morning. I fact that the dropped dead after the treatment leases me to believe that I messed some up but it could have been too late.
