copperband butterfly don't look healthy

I got this Copperband butterfly shipped to me. And from day one he had a red spot on his one side. I used what i had in the house was pimafix and melafix. dosed 10ml daily each into my 20gallon quarantine tank im 8 days into the treatment already. he eats good, the red spot is no longer red, but looks like there is a scar still left. and today i noticed a new spot is forming. Im seeking advise on what to do. maybe changing medication.... ill try to take a picture of him, he is the only fish in a tank

See if the injury looks as described. Raised scales, dark patches. Sadly, this fish injury easily. Hopefully someone can come in amd say I am wrong.

Most likely lymph. Could have ich as well

looks like lymph to me, as they are to large of a size, ill know for sure if it will take longer then week to stay on a fish.

Focus on water quality and pimafix/melafix is a tonic rather than medication containing tea k tree oils. These fish are susceptible to bacterial infection hence the redness and altthough lympho can hit them, can also be a ciliated protozoan parasite. Keep an eye on it to assure it doent progress .
Assure you do not have elevated ammonia and nitrate. Good to hear its eating. I have a 5" + which is an eating machine. LRS herbivore diet is one of its favorites

the fact that it's eating means everything!
water changes,water changes, varied food several times a day.

thank you! never payed any attention to this brand of food. mine eating frozen blood worm and pe mysis.

make sure you pick up detritus and uneatten food. by doing this you'll control unwanted bacteria, ammonia build up , nitrates.

Not reef frenzy but herbivore diet
Leave detritus alone.
What is age of tank and what is your ammonia-salinity-ph and nitrate levels?
Allow bacteria to build. Unless you have high ammonia, no need for frequent water changes.

Copperband is a herbivore? Mine loves Reef Frenzy. Detritus is good? You just shot down 50 years of my aquarium experience. Live and learn.

Most detrius is cleaned up by good bacteria. at least that's from my recent learning and adding Seachem Pristine

This tank is only 2 weeks old, water and biomedia came from my display tanks sump. And on top of that tank gets 10% daily water changes, and water is from my display tank. So as far a water chemistry, there is no problems there

Btw, the picture was at same time as feeding time, all that gets gone in 10 to 15 minutes.
