Btw, the picture was at same time as feeding time, all that gets gone in 10 to 15 minutes.

Awesome. He is eating well! Again, best of luck with him. The food I showed you in the pic is what I feed my Copperband and That food and Mysis are his two favorite foods.

I was a bit worried when you said that but then I read you've had it for over 8 days and it's eating well, plus you say its no longer red. Those are all good signs.
Don't lose faith.
I went through several CBB's before finding one that would eat. That may sound like a given but it's not.
Give it time and keep us posted. We are all learning and experimenting with new situations.

Hi, I missed your post yesterday. Indeed, in the video it is clear that the fish has Lymphocystis. Really common in CBB, and no treatment is needed, it will go away on its own in 6 to 8 weeks.

The first still pictures, with the red spots, resembles Uronema. However, you'll know that pretty soon as if it is that, the spots will grow larger and the fish will stop feeding. There is no treatment for that.

Other folks have weighed in on how important nutrition is for these fish....

After reading the article linked by Jay I feel that the guidance we gave you last night was accurate.
Hopefully it’s not Uronema and you’ll have that beautiful fish in your display with a story to tell soon.

if its internal bleeding, you should be able to bring him to a specialized doctor.

Thank you for checking up. Honestly I didn't have time to check up on him this morning. Had to run to work, Last night I did another water change, and dosed pimafix and milafix again. If its Uronema I do have metroplex medication/chemicals to use if needed, I just don't want to risk it, I think it's hard on fish.

Let’s hope it’s not. Based on the pic and the fact that he’s eating plus the wound does look like it’s healed.
The next few days will tell
Having gone through Uronema not to long ago I’d say it’s not

Looks like the Lymphocystis is getting a bit worse. See how it's taking food in and then spitting it out? That can be a problem. Try to figure out which of the foods it is eating the best, and then try dicing some of that up into smaller pieces with a single edged razor blade. Be sure to remove all uneaten food promptly.

Copperband is a herbivore? Mine loves Reef Frenzy. Detritus is good? You just shot down 50 years of my aquarium experience. Live and learn.

Not that- Herbivore has added vitamins and larger sized bits than the reef frenzy and added vitamins/aminos/fats

I thought I read Lymphocystis wasn't contagious? If that's so, wouldn't it be sound advice to reintroduce it back to the DT specifically to alleviate any unwarranted stress?

at least the scales seem to be leaning away from uronema.............

i stand corrected it is contagious but it seems undefined as to the level. If you are practicing QT the level is unimportant

Lymphocystis is highly contagious, but it ONLY infects susceptible fish, and then, usually only newly acquired fish (the other have built a resistance to it).

Just giving update to all who helped. My fish pulled through, healthy and did awesome job at keeping aiptasia free frag tank.

Coppersafe at 2.5 ppm is tolerated by these well enough.
To be honest, the ONLY copperbands I will buy now are short supply chain ones like from Australia. The SE Asian ones have too high of a mortality rate….

or buy pre quarantined ones where the dealer assumes that initial mortality.
