Copperband butterfly

As said live blackworms! Mine loves them. Getting them on mysis is a plus as well. As stated earlier the Hikari brand are smaller and easier for butterfly fish. Eating out of the water column is funny for my guy. He gets the food most of the time but sometimes it looks like his depth perception is off and he misses the food completely. Beautiful fish that usually really needs quarantining to get to eat.
Good luck!

My CBB went through phases in QT whereby she would only devour certain types of foods at a time - black worms, clams, etc - but I wasn’t that worried because she was eating consistently. Bae - our CBB - has now been with us through multiple tanks and a few extra rounds of QT - including a recent Cu treatment - and she’s as bullet proof as you could expect a fish to be. She has a voracious appetite, loves LRS (which is what we feed our tank), and has a fat belly. I’ve never seen an aptaisa in our DT but as others indicated it’s a hit and miss with CBB. QT is definitely key in my opinion with these fish to get them eating and then once they are settled in they are relatively hardy. Good luck! ;)

Do you guys think a 90g is too small for a cbb? I think I read 120 as a recommendation on live aquaria but they are the same length at 48"

I've got one in a 90 right now and he is doing fine. But I feel bad for him because he is fairly large (about the size of my palm) and can get from side to side within a couple swoops of his tail. I don't think the tank size has caused him any stress as of yet but I wouldn't want to keep in there long term. In a couple weeks he will be in his new 8' home so he and I will be much happier.

Thanks, just the little extra push I needed to not get one.
