Disclaimer:
I was sent this pump for testing, I did not pay for it.

Yep, out of the box they are great. I run 4 over my various systems.

I am looking at purchasing the 12,000 but the tank will be in living room are they dead silent?

I have 3 running in my living room, no covers on sump yet.

My MP40W were louder on system, followed by skimmer

Pumps can't hear them.

Update, my pumps have been running strong, I purchased 2 of the smaller ones to run my UV and my Reactor loops. Great value.

old post but do you guys still recommend this pump? im looking to upgrade my old pump. i ordered a varios-2 and sent it back because it was so loud!!

Still running strong and on a manifold in my 125. Had it a year now and 0 complaints.

I run one on my skimmer for 2 years. At the 1 year mark. It would stall then start. Then it healed itself and hasn’t stopped since. It’s basically a jebao

I run the DCA6000 as return pump at100 percent under full siphon.
Great pump, silent but every time i shut the pump off and back on
it has not the same strong flow as before, i have to adjust the gate
valve on my return. About two to three days later it just out of nowhere
goes back to the previous flow and i have to adjust the gate valve again.
Anybody else experience this.

Hopefully I do not run into this.. I plan to have it hooked up to my Apex as I do shut of the return when I feed.

Doing that now with my varois pump and its comes back online with no issues. I have spent way to much $$ on my current tank and now having to go cheep on my return .. I will keep my varios as a backup as its not the flow I need for my 220 ...

DCP are newer and don't have the issues of the older models, they evolve forward. Love both mine

Are you saying that the DCP models don't fluctuate when starting back up, do you run full siphon on your
system?

DCP are the new models correct? either way never had a single one fluctuate. I run 2 currently. No full siphon, I have holes in the top of dual returns so the syphon can break in case of power outage

I run a coral box DCA 4000 and jebao DCS 4000 on two different systems. Never had any issues with either in the year and a half of service and they've both stayed quiet with less than perfect maintenance. I did have to change the setting on the Coral Box from dropping to notches in flow for the 1st hour (stock setting) to auto turning back on to exactly the same flow level. Is that potentially your issue?

Love the DCP. Mine does not fluctuate after being powered off for feedings. Settles back in within a few minutes.
