I need some assistance. All my corals are fine except goni has been closed a week and now my bubble is starting to close, all others are fine. Parameters are

PH 8
Nitrate 0
Nitrite 0
Ammonia 0
Sg 1.024
Temp 79
Calcium 480
Alk 10
Mag 1350

I'm at a loss. They were both fine a week ago, no new lights or anything. Any ideas?

Yup. Food. No and Po may be too low. Gonis like to be fed. Small particulates.
Does the bubble open up at night and look like a tentacled nightmare? Feed it then

Flow. Gonis I belive should look like Mesusa hair and faster than a torch likes. and bubbles will take more flow than I though. Both as turbulent as possible and not laminar.

Good luck. And beautiful tank.

Also I have never had nitrates In the tank. Not sure why! I do water changes every 7 days. Have skimmer rated for 65 gallons (mine is 29 plus 10 gallon sump) about 40 pounds live rock. I feed fairly light also but only have 5 fish

My Goni closes up at night, so to feed I turn off all the flow while it's extended, then feed the fish off in a corner while dropping rehydrated CALA-fin on the goni. Trick is keeping the fish away as they cause my goni to retract and stop feeding.

Let us know how they respond to feeding.

Will try that tonight, I use reef roids to feed corals. I usually only do 2x a week..should I feed more? Corals also get food leftover from feeding fish
It's Larry's Frozen that my lfs sells and recommends. All other corals are fine, I never even fed them when I first got them

probably this. it fine to do , but you'll have lower nutrients and maybe have a harder time with some corals. also with filter feeders you'll have less organics in the water.
so a balance of either feeding more or slowing the wc and skimming,
your not far of at all,Im def not recommending a big change because the tank and corals look great. gonis can be a trick.

Ty I will hold off on water changes a few more days to maybe lower some nutrients like calcium which is always very high and mg which can get high too. Goni is still closed but if he starts opening enough to feed I will for sure. I see no sign of die off so hopefully he will pull through...

Hopefully its just pouting!

I recently lost mine. I consider it my first coral death under my control. It was doing great for awhile. Showed growth. Thought I had it figured out. Thought, this corals not that hard to grow. Hahaha! It's a tough one and lasted 5 months for me. I'll try again sometime, but not soon.
