can anyone id this coral for me and offer advice caring for it. I found it while snorkelling on a fringing reef most of it was bleached except for this part of it.

There is a lot of fringing reefs that are not in protected areas. Most have been bleached in the last year but still some healthy corals.

You should have left it where it was if you dont have a better home for it.

80% of the corals are bleached and most likely won't recover. They bleached last year, and half was gone. Now they bleached again. I pulled it off using my hands so it wasn't healthy and half of it was bleached already

Its sad but only a fringing reef. There are plenty of healthy reefs where I am that are doing well. Very little bleaching but some cyclone damage from a few years ago.
