coral identification help please!

Dylan J.
Since your so familiar with fl rock, can you tell me exactly what these are? I know they are palys but are they Palythoa Grandis? The largest polyp is over an inch!

And do you know what the coral is in the second picture? Its the cluster of dark red coral thats below the fl lobo. They have clear tentacles and seem to benefit from target feeding.

Thank you so much again!

All the Florida coral is something u can only get from buying the rocks. Not allowed to be sold commercially. I'm 100% sure its a majano nem. If u have a sump/fuge just throw them down there. Make sure u keep target feeding the lobo and cup coral other wise they'll die

Ok ill toss the evil nem :-(
I actually prefer corals that have to be fed. I cant remember what they are called atm. I would like a list of coral that need fed. If you know of a website that focuses on them id love to read about them and all of the different species.

If u run LEDs on those polyps ull see more more green on the polyps but how it looks now its either a new tank is set up or you r running old t5 lights that need replacing or running a 50/50 split florescence bulbs on the tank

All LPS corals r corals that u can target feed and watch eat. Some palys you can feed and watch eat and same with some SPS but what it sounds like ur looking for is LPS corals

First picture is green button polyps grandis plays r way bigger :)

The second is the Florida lobo

I was actually referring to the maroon coral thats below the lobo. My lights are reef leds (but they are fuval brand) and power compacts. I hope to upgrade to some better leds soon. Under blue lights, the palys are a very pretty bright green. And some days ill wake up, turn my lights on, and notice that they are all full green with no brown. Then a few days later they will be all brown with no green. And sometimes they are half and half like in the photo. Hopefully better leds will help they to stay a consistent bright green :-D
