coral identification help please!

The first ones still look like Big Polyp Blastos to me.

I googled that and nothing that came up looked like mine. maybe mine is a less popular variety of it because its not too colorful? So maybe thats why the ones I see dont look the same as mine. Also, its just 1 single polyp that keeps getting bigger. But it hasnt ever reproduced. The blastos I saw were big balls of several polyps.

The last one above the sponge looks like a Majano Anemone or a tiny bubble tip anemone. Do the tentacles ever extend out?

The tentacles only come out a little bit. The last pic that I posted of it with its mouth showing is the most the tentacles have ever extended. And that was after it feeding so I dont think they are even that that long. They are litterly just little bubbles with no tentacles that they would extend from, as far as I can see. Its like the bubbles are its tentacles. But it does retract when disturbed, to the point that its no longer visable. So maybe it has tentacles that just stay hidden in the rock. But its mouth came all the way out of the rock after I fed it.

The BTAs I have seen had nipples (for lack of a better word) that extended out past the bubble tips. Mine just has little oval shapped bubbles. But the BTAs I have seen were also much larger than my 'thing' lol idk what to call it!

Ya I am confused on that last one as well. I agree that most BTAs when the tentacles are in bubble form tend to have those points, so I am at a loss as well. I am hoping more people chime in. The big polyp blastos I was looking at when comparing to yours were the following:

This morning before turning the lights on I looked at the potential BTA and its tentacles were not bubbles. They still eerent extended much though. They were just in 'tentacle' form. Then after I turned the lights on, it returned back to the bubble form that is shown in the pictures.

hmm It is definitely some sort of anemone. I don't know if it is a nasty majano or if its something cool like a BTA.

Here is a better photo of it. How can I tell the difference between majano and bta? I googled that question but got no results that actually applied to the question.

Well, looking at those photos I am seeing the "nipples" a little bit more. I am definitely not an anemone expert, but it doesn't look like the majanos I typically see in stores or people's tanks. I guess just keep an eye on it and see how it progresses.

Typically majanos do not stay bubbled up and have a thicker tentacle. The colors are similar to the one you have for majanos, and BTAs that I have seen have a much fuller color though.

I have normal sand in my tank can I go ahead and mix it with live sand or do I need to take it all out and start again with just live sand ? Thanks for ur help

I would take it out and use all new sand. Or you can take it out, and clean it well, then let it all dry out again and use it.

But to answer your question; yes you can leave it in a bucket for that long or any other non-chemical leaching plastic container.

Those anemone looking thing s with clear tentacles with white tips, I moved the rock they are on so I could get better pics amd look at them better. They have a hard shell they go into when they retract. I got some pics of them inside the shell. Its a bowl shaped shell.

The third pic shows its mouth.

This is a Florida cup coral, this stuff is all over the rocks down where I live. Its like a sun corals. It doesn't have zooxanthellie to help it feed and only depends on target feeding with meaty foods

Its illegal to commercially sell this coral and only way obtained is through getting Florida live rock

I'm gonna guess that rock is a Florida live just cuz of all the stuff on it. The coral that people are saying blasto to is a Florida lobo, and the nem is a species of mojano nem. (It's a bad nem)

THANK YOU! Well im REALLY glad to know that I have cup coral. It is really cool to know that they cant be bought! Im glad they arent bad nems bc ive been target feeding them lol. Your assumption that my rock is Florida rock is absolutely correct! Is the fl lobo a common hitchhiker? Seems like an expensive freebie! Either way i love it! Its my favorite coral by far. Target feeling it has turned it from brown/gray to pretty orange/blue/green! I want more!
Im not too happy about the majano nem. But its tips are SO bubbly! Im hoping your wrong and its a bta lol.

All the Florida coral is something u can only get from buying the rocks. Not allowed to be sold commercially. I'm 100% sure its a majano nem. If u have a sump/fuge just throw them down there. Make sure u keep target feeding the lobo and cup coral other wise they'll die
