Hey brew why is this???
I don't think they ever tried to reproduce the results.
Definitely not a hoax. I have even found studies that document ich that stay in the tomant stage for over 11 weeks. There are multiple studies that show them having a lifecycle of over 50 days. So yes, most strains only take 30 days to hatch or less, but there are multiple ones that take over 30 days. It is also very temperature dependent. Most studies are done in the 75F-80F range. If you drop the temperature down to 60F you can have ich strains last 100+ days. That's what I was thinking. It's probably just a hoax or maybe the person that did the test had too many beers. 72 days just for ONE strain of ich??....with no other results to back it up?? Come on man. Almost everything I read says 30 days for ich. But I like 6 weeks (same as velvet) just in case.
