There are some people that just have a pure lack of morals. It's really sad what has come for people to do to others with out a blink of an eye. Veteran here in Kansas had his service dog kidnapped and killed last week. It's really really sad

Man that just sucks. I am guessing the store had no survalince cameras?

...the Heck is wrong with people? That's the most horrible thing I've ever heard.

It's so sad to hear that someone stole this beautiful coral. I really hope they can find out who stole it... Of course, I hope it turns up unharmed & healthy, too!

how does someone steal something out of a tank in a fish store without anyone noticing :/

That store gets busy and depending on how many employees are working could have made a difference. It may have been in there open top tank as well.
I hope they find the guy that did it. I hate to see any store have corals getting taken.

One of your local fish stores had a war paint scoly stolen. Its easy for employee's to get distracted on busy days. Sometimes people like that work in pairs where one person distracts a worker and the other reaches in a tank and steals something. A common carrier for stolen items is a drink cup from mcdonalds and the like. The person brings a cup in filled with saltwater and a lid on it. Pretends to drink out of it. When no one is looking they pick something up and drop it in the cup and walk back out. As if this hobby wasn't expensive enough, thieves make it worse.

LOL, after rereading it, it does sound bad. The real story is that this is what has happend at my LFS and I spend to much time there so i've heard the story once or twice.

*PSA* PLEASE DO NOT DO THE ABOVE PEOPLE!! Help keep our corals from going any higher than they already are. Pay for your stuff!!

I hate to say it but it has become common practice for low lifes to steal corals out of stores tanks...happen twice where I work in a matter of a month on 2 very large SSC colonies..suffice it to say they got caught on camera and were arrested

Good. Hopefully they won't just get a slap on the wrist.

Unbelievable ..............but thats where we are today folks, anyway if they frag et it will be pretty hard to prove it was yours, it has to be a local.

Even if the do find some frags of it it will be hard to prove that person stole it its not like it has a SC number ...... and my lfs have a coral just like that one and I'm sure their is a couple more just like it out their somewhere but good luck

I'll keep my eyes peeled down here in Cincy. PM me the coral type, our local message forum has turned into a Craigslist lately so it is likely to appear down here

There are so many different crime rings in the retail environment. You have people that work in groups to distract the associates and one steals the items. I work in a pet store and have seen everything from an ENTIRE display case of electronic training collars to a tank of hermit crabs stolen. It is really disheartening that people stoop to this just to make a buck.
