Hello, fairly new to the hobby and just wanted to confirm what I'm seeing...does this look like coralline? Am I ready for some simple corals?

It’s a little difficult to see from the photos / lighting. How long has your tank been up and running?

This tank has been up for just under a month, however the rock itself has been in my tanks for about 6 months. I had a 55G, then moved and upgraded to a 120G, then had to downsize to a 65G per wife's request). Rock has been in water the entire time.

Oh, well then it certainly could be coralline. Why not ease into things with a nice leather coral of some type — pretty hardy. ;)

Certainly sounds like it is Coralline. Nicely done on the scape!

Thank you, a lot of trial and error on the scape, but it turned out pretty good.

Finally after 6 months or so I have started to learn my lesson, take your time. I've rushed too much when it comes to fish, which has resulted in some deaths and discouraging stress diseases. Definitely going to take my time, quarantine, and learn from the mistakes. This certainly is encouraging and speaks to patience if it is indeed coralline.

I have same thing starting to grow on my rocks this week too.

It’s unfortunate that you’ve had some loses but, the important thing is that you’re learning from them.

Patience is very very important in this hobby at all stages you must be patient. Slow and steady and I promise you’ll find great success.

I cannot see any coralline but after a month you generally don't see that so not to worry.

If your parameters are stable I would go for a leather coral or two and see how they go. Make sure you keep some good flow in the tank for them to do well.

Did you introduce any coralline to the tank? If not, I wouldn’t say coralline. This is heavier coralline growth on these rocks. Also, your water looks cloudy. As @Hemmdog mentioned, could be phytoplankton

My water looks a little cloudy also.

Is your calcium droping?
When I introduced coraline to my tank and saw it starting to spread, less than what I see in your tank my CA started to drop, as the Coraline was consuming it.
IMO this would be a better indicator of Coraline vs something else.
