Coralline Algae?

Could be a bacterial or algae bloom.
I added an air stone to the return chamber, upgraded the return pump to a Sicce Syncra 2.0, added two random flow generators to 6” of loc line, added a Hydor Koralia 750/850 GPH powerhead, and added an In Tank fuge basket with Chaeto on a 12 hour light schedule opposite the DT lights. I also have an In Tank media basket with filter floss, two bags of Marine Pure gems, and an 11.7 oz bag of Chemi Pure Elite on the bottom shelf. The DT is dark from 10 pm to 7 am. I do 8 gallon weekly water changes every Saturday.

Is your calcium droping?
When I introduced coraline to my tank and saw it starting to spread, less than what I see in your tank my CA started to drop, as the Coraline was consuming it.
IMO this would be a better indicator of Coraline vs something else.
I do not test calcium so I have no idea what my levels might be.

2nd for algae. My LR started the same growth when I was running a 14hr cycle with my Radions. Changed the cycle down to a 6 on 6 off and the growth has stopped. I have read it is common for the green algae like that to turn into corraline over time though.

Well, before corals I would invest in QUALITY test kits for.
Alk, Calcium, Magnesium, Salinity, PH, and P04.
These are must haves not options.
I recomend Hanna checkers.

I gather you already have an ATI test kit for Ammonia, Nitrate, Nitrite, and Ph.

I know its the unfun part of the hobby but alas its critical to keeping the tank alive.

Maybe I missed it how big is the water volume?
Tank
Sump
Total.
What saltmix?
What are you testing for currently?
Thx.

I am not the expert on Coraline but I do know it will not magicaly grow out of GHA. Two different species of algae.
If you started out with all dry products then you will have to introduce Coraline to the tank.
My first tank was started this way and 5 months in after the ugly stage, I still had no Coraline growth.
Frustrated as I was determined not to add coral until I had establish Coraline growth. I was following the BRS/WWC method and this is how they do it.
Well finally I learned that I needed to add a source.
So I went to my LFS and they cave me a 3/4 PVC coupling covered in coraline. Brought it home scraped it off and sprinkled it out.
A week later it was growing on almost everything and my calcium started to drop.

Your system may be different depending on what you used to start everything up with.

I use the API test kit. It’s a Bio cube 32. I use Fritz Reef Pro Mix in the red box. I test twice a week for PH, Nitrites, Nitrates, and Ammonia. I test salinity every two or three days.

I just ordered a couple of nice testers off of Amazon so if I start dosing calcium which of these products is best?

You will have to do the research on those products.
I have no experience with them.i use the Triton method.
This would be a question for the reef chemistry forum.
