I just thought this was kind of funny. These 4 or 5 strands allways extend like 6" further than the rest. Looks pretty cool though. Anybody ever seen anything like this before?

I've noticed forgspawns tend to do this... personally I don't like it but thats just my preference... I could see how this could be something people go after, if I've learned anything in this hobby is everyone has a lil niche they seem to fall into haha

Sweepers ;) watch out for neighboring corals

You must have done something really wrong. Goniopora/flower pot coral don't have sweeper tentacles. It must have mutated due to bio hazard exposure.

hahaha well if thats how its done tell me the secret because I'd love to have extra long tentacles on my acan :D

:o I love fluffy SPS... there was one that looked like a monster at a coral shop I was at last weekend and man oh how my wallet would of not liked me that day if I had a spot for it hahaha

Does anyone know what it means if corals don't really display as much polyp extension in your tank? Is it always a sign that there is something wrong with the tank?

Usually never a bad thing, some corals dont even stay extended untill the night hours.. but lack of coral pe could potetially mean a pest, or something hosting it, could be flow or light or a flux water quality issue. If its growing and happy, i see no issue =)

Light intensity will affect PE as well, that is the reason why I always check lighting requirement before I glue any coral permanently.

Edit: Sabellafella did mentioned light, so i just intensified it for him :D
