Could I add a refugium to my sump?

Yes your right. The design of that sump sucks. Thats a lot of space for return section and seems like a waste to me.

Alright folks, what do you guys think about what I did? Made the entire right section the fuge and put my return pump on top of the sand inside the HOB fuge box I bought so it wouldn’t suck up the sand. Did I do something stupid or do you think it will work well?
