I just got this baby up and running for a couple weeks now and tonight I was cleaning the the glass and noticed a weird U shaped crack in the tank. You can only feel it on the outside of the pane and it’s not leaking any water. Is this my fault or manufacture defect? Do you think seapora will cover their warranty if I didn’t fill out their warranty card and it’s 3 days past one month of warranty. Lol picture of my new indo gold included :)

Is it possible for a tank to develop a crack in this shape? Lol im going to look like an idiot if it’s just a scratch

U shape us not a typical crack pattern. Can be silicone, glue or scratch. Try going across with a razor gently and see if you are able to remove what it glue.

It’s just so strange if it was a scratch I just feel like it would have been noticed long before today but at the same time I can’t feel it inside and it’s in this weird shape. Lol freaking out. Lol I don’t want to be surprised tonight

That’s a good idea I’m going to do that with some silicone

Lol you guys really have me scratching my head if it’s a crack or a scratch.

Water pressure in the tank can cause the crack to feel smooth or be invisible. While uncommon, a Ushaped crack isn't impossible by any means. And the crack might not have been visible until there was water in the tank, or so small that it wasn't visible and is now growing. Remove everything from the tank if you suspect a crack. Don't risk it. I know very little about seapora, like nothing kinda little, but I'd think if you only had it up a few weeks and fill out the card now, since the purchase is so new, you should be covered. If anything else, if you got it through Amazon.con or paid with PayPal, you can go those routes for a dispute as well.

This is the response I got from seapora. They were quick and I hope they are right
Hi Tony

The lines you are seeing are only cosmetic and will not affect or compromise the use of the tank.

You are safe to continue enjoying it.

Thank you.

So I think that is good news? You may want to ask about your options if it does turn into something more. Good luck!

Even if it is a scratch ho wants that to look at. How much was that tank. I would keep it unless maybe using it as a refugium....

It’s too bad it’s hard to exchange something like a tank. If it’s just a scratch I could live with it but a subtle crack I would rather replace it...looking at it even more it does look a deep scratch. It’s just strange how I wouldnt have noticed it till now.....lol I don’t know about you guys but I stare at the tank way too much throughout day

If the scratch is not to deep and since it is on the outside you may be able to buff it out. I am not an expert at this but surely r2r had members with experience and u2 videos etc.

I mean the company just put all the blame on themselves if something goes bad
You would think they would say with confidence if it was or wasn't
I mean they just told you it's safe to keep, wouldn't be good for them if it does bust

They should send you a replacement if they or shipping caused it.
