This is the response I got from seapora. They were quick and I hope they are right
Hi Tony

The lines you are seeing are only cosmetic and will not affect or compromise the use of the tank.

You are safe to continue enjoying it.

Thank you.

Unless they examined the tank how can they know this. How can they know it from a photo. Seriously. That alone would make me want them to come get their tank.

If the scratch is not to deep and since it is on the outside you may be able to buff it out. I am not an expert at this but surely r2r had members with experience and u2 videos etc.

If they do this then it will most likely void any warranty and any failures would be blamable on altering the tank and compromising the glass.

Yeah I’m sure how they were able to determine that based on the picture but let’s hope they are right. Lol maybe I can use that email to back up future problems.

Don't hold your breath. A company will rarely admit fault until you get high end lawyers involved.

Is it possible for a tank to develop a crack in this shape? Lol im going to look like an idiot if it’s just a scratch

I'm inclined to agree with the scratch theory. I would think a crack would go from edge to edge. I'm thinking that when you cleaned the glass, a piece of sand may have been trapped between the glass and the pad.

Try buffing the scratch off. At least it will take some of it off making it less noticeable.

In my experience trying to get a scratch out glass is next to impossible, especially if you can feel it with your fingernail. Messing with it will only make it worse. If you can't feel it on both sides of the glass it is not a crack.

One other thing... sometimes, the best thing to do is nothing at all. It appears to be on the side of the tank. I'd learn to ignore it.
