No florida rock. It must have hitchhiked on a the coral that came from Tonga.That looks like an actual fireworm, as opposed to a bristleworm. I think they are atlantic species, do you have any florida rock?
Good choice to throw it away, fireworms I think are actual coral predators.

Bristles are agreed good to have...fireworms not so much...Too bad - looks like a typical bristle worm or possibly a fire worm. In either case both are good at cleaning up left over food(s) and what not.

It’s widely known, they are just creepy. And fireworms suck because their bristles flake off and get stuck in you like fiber glass splinters.I have enough clean up crew. Do you have evidence or reference for your claim?
