Brand new tank. So far i just added two clowns, hawk fish, rabbit fish and Scotas tang fr my 90 gal.

Im buying a Kole Tang on Tuesday but he’s going to quarantine it for me so ill add in a month or so.

Wanting to get a blenny, 3 cardinals and a firefish.
Anyone have suggestions or tell me im doing something wrong. Picture just to have something to look at. My kids love this fish.

Don’t add another tang. The scopas on its own will rule the tank and not allow any other fish into it once it’s a “large” size (2-4 inch long).

…maybe…if you are going to add another, mixing genera can work … I have a scopas with a Atlantic blue, and a bristletooth of some type …
that 90g is borderline, maybe I’ll summon the tang police :D

Not too concerned about the fish selection, but I think the rate and order that they’re being added may be of concern. Typically want to add from least aggressive to most aggressive and don’t double the bio load every 1-2 months

good luck on the tank. Send more pics

I agree with previous comments about making sure you don't add too many fish too fast! I made an acrylic acclimation container which I had a tang in for 3 days as I was adding him after already having 4 tangs in my system. I had no problems with that process for adding the additional tang.

The local shop i got the fish from said i shouldn't have a problem as they not the same kind of Tang (whatever that means). I gave him a list of fish i wanted and he suggested these and no more for now. Then add more in a month or so.

Be prepared for the other tang not be allowed to leave a corner of the tank for a week

depends on the fish imo. I tried two different types of tangs in a 80g. A yellow and a kole. They were quarantined together and added at the same time. The Kole eventually just became way too mean to everything. I tried one more kole. Another mean one. I gave up and kept the yellow.

I like watching the fish coexists not stress each other out.

I think it can work but you may also have to trap one. Roll of the dice.

Your tank looks very very new and very white. I would go slower. When people add fish too fast… that is when they come back later and say help, my fish are sick.

What rabbit fish do you have? That many larger fish in a 90g can mean trouble controlling nutrients. You are looking at three big eaters with the rabbitfish and 2 tangs. Making sure they have enough to eat and keeping up with nutrients will have to be managed.
Hawkfish can be mean to smaller fish. WIth that group of fish, I think a firefish will be lost and suffer. Get hardier fish. Maybe a nice damsel (Azure, Talbot) you could do up to three probably with good rock scape.

Ditto on the concern for the rabbitfish
I just caught up and rehomed a 6-8 month old Captive bred rabbitfish that had outgrown my 90 lagoon (which has 2 bristle tooth tangs) - was not prepared how fast the rabbit would grow - as an aside, this was not an engaging personality
Over all the fish you have described represent a good stocking for a well established tank. Please go slow, and as you mention kids, it'll be a shame for them to have to see the losses going to fast.
and my 2 bristletooths (a blue eye and a flame) were added at the same time -
habitat, hiding places and flow lanes will help predict tang conviviality
and to the red spot hawkfish , mine is not a concern for other fish, but expect that any small shrimp will not be around long - I keep peppermints in all the other tanks, but not his...

best of luck, go slow

Was this by any chance not a rabbit commonly sold with the name of foxface? Such as the gold spotted rabbitfish? If so then they are known for growing big and fast. But rabbitfish like Siganus uspi, Siganus magnificus, Siganus vulpinus, Siganus unimaculatus and siganus niger will take a while to grow. But yes, I agree and do want to know what species the rabbitfish is because that will certainly determine what tang is better suited and how many large fish you can have.

I personally think that the foxface would do best with a bristletooth. The reason for this is any other tang will become aggressive and with the foxface being a close relative to tangs aswell as an algae grazer, they are going to be one of the first targets of any tang unless there is another tang in there (Seperate species or not).

It is a Biota Gold lined rabbit (lineatus?) and it went from a baby to the size of my hand in that time - and for the record, this individual rarely grazed but hogged the feeding time - it is doing well in a 250 in a dentists office now, will go look at it one of these days - but its not my dentist
it was neutral in any social interactions except elbowing anyone out of the feeding stream
assumed the OP means a Rabbitfish, but of course it could be a fox face

I feel like I end up saying this too often, but I cannot recommend enough a Royal Gramma as a solid beginners fish - hardy, good coloration, mid water swimmer, affordable and I for one have never had aggression either from or to....
by the way, spoke with a collector and he said he can collect one from a pier piling on a Monday, and on Wednesday there is another one in its place - that makes me feel better any way...

Sorry to say they like to sell fish and are not always concerned or knowledgeable about the interaction between different fish. Your best bet is to get a lot of past experience is post on Reef2Reef. The problem with just getting one opinion from the person who stands to profit is that it may have worked one time but may not work 20 times.

Foxface one spot. My research says they grow up to 8”. Several people suggested this to me.

The scopus i got will get to big for the tank one day and will probably have to get rid of it.
