How can I make one? Also could I just keep the guy in my fuge? He's kind of cutePhysical removal or make a baited trap similar to a bristleworm trap with a larger opening. An empty water bottle works well. Plenty of trap plans on here.

I just threw that trap away. I think I'm going to have to go with the glass. How can I now find it in my tank?Basically, you can take a plastic water bottle and cut the top off about 1/3 down. Remove the cap and invert the cut end into the base of the bottle so you have a funnel top leading into the bottle base. Add some meaty foods to the bottle, fill it with tank water and sink it into the tank. You may need to cut the neck off the bottle to make the funnel opening bigger depending on the size of the crab. Just keep an eye on the trap especially at night and remove it as soon as you notice the crab inside. Here's a similar one I made to catch fruit flies. You get the idea.![]()
Sorry. Forgot to since I panickedPost critter ID in critter ID.
Fasten a piece of shrimp to a rock with a rubber band. Drop it in a tall water glass. Place glass in tank leaning against the rocks in the area. He'll climb in the glass but can't climb out. It works. How can I make one? Also could I just keep the guy in my fuge? He's kind of cute
What do you use to bait them in? I've used small dishes with apple cider vinegar covered with plastic wrap and little holes poked in the plastic to varying degrees of success. Any fruit juice works. Adding a little yeast or beer will help attract them as well. The trick is to add a few drops of dish soap to the water and stir gently so as not to get bubbles. The soap alters the surface tension of the water and pulls the flies under so they can't escape. What do you use to bait them in?
