Cups into grams and US gallons into litre - dosing

Sorry, I can’t do the calculations just now, but I’m sure someone else can. I would weigh the baking soda before baking, not after, since you may or may not fully drive off the CO2. So everything just scales gallons to any other volume by the same factor.

Thank you, just need confirmations my calculations are correct. As above I've been advised the 156g of baking soda is prior to baking and will drop in weight once baked.

Your numbers look good to me....from Randy's article HERE, recipe 1 for alk and calc:

ALK: 594 g / 3.79 = 157 grams of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) which is then baked at 300F for one hour.

CALC: 500 g / 3.79 = 132 grams calcium chloride dihydrate

For MAG, from the R2R post of Randy's HERE (with the correction of the error of flipping the sulfate and chloride):

EPSOM SALT (Magnesium Sulfate): 680 g / 3.79 = 179 grams
Magnesium Chloride hexahydrate: 1134 g / 3.79 = 299 grams

The gram difference with some of the above are within error.

You also might wish to take a look at THIS post about dosing.....hope this helps!
