Anyone using this light I bought the 48 in and I don't keep sps. Had a halide ballast fire this morning lukaly caught it fast no damage.

4 foot 75 gallon just wanted to know if it's a good light. I know it had good reviews on line but not many reviewers

I had our local club president over with his Parmeter and anything below 12 inches wasn't getting a reading. But with both blues and whites at 100% we had decent reading at the top.

Hi Jet, how high over your tank was the MH? and what wattage?

Don't expect anything below 12 inches from the top to do very well. I moved some mushrooms down to the bottom half and have had to move them because they were just perishing away. I have since got them to rebound though under t5 lighting. We also measured the par with a four bulb t5 lighting fixture that I have for comparison. I have gsp 7 inches from top of tank that are thriving.

duke, may I ask what par did you get off the t5 and what color combo did you use? if you recall?

In advertising theory is close. But Duke and reefwiser's test say different.

I had the orbit marine pro over a jbj 30 rimless. It was able to keep anything but sps but growth was minimal. They are just underpowered for anything but the shallowest of tanks in my experience. Loved the low profile and ramping abilities though.

T5 is 2 each of the following: 10k and acentic blue. I want to say 1800+, was suggested I go to 20k bulbs. I thought it was the meter at 1st, that's why I asked him to measure under my t5s.
