I just wanted to do a quick review on the Current USA eFlux 2100 Wave pump kit.
I purchased the kit and an extra pump in which the total cost was just over $200 because one of my Hydor pumps went after about 5 years.

I honestly wasn't expecting the quality, quiet product that I received.

First out of the box the quick instructions were in fact quick and when completely read, precise to setup the pumps in gyre mode placing them on the sides of my 4 ft. 100 gallon tank. Not only was I surprised that they gave flow to the entire tank(expecting to run some of the old, other Hydors in dead spots), but I run them at 70% and they are dead silent. I hear nothing from them in a quiet room. The wiring was simple and the cords were long enough to store out of the way. The IR remote works flawlessly and came with an extra battery. Feed mode works well with my return pump as I hit the return pump and wait 30 seconds, feed, then hit the circulating pumps into feed mode 15 seconds later and the food is mixed throughout the tank with none going to the sump.

The only downsides I saw were that the control did not allow for an auto slow down at night and the power plugs into the LOOP controller could be a bit more secure like the pump side is. That is it. The mounting hardware was even quite good.

After looking at other options that cost more for the same flow and ability I would definitely chose and recommend this product for the price point and coverage. I don't think the same flow with gyre can be duplicated out of the box with any other product. I would like the flow to go to 50% of current flow at night, but I give this product at 2 weeks of consistently reliability a 4.5 out of 5 and if the cost was factored in a full 5. Time will tell on reliability vs. the Tunze and Hydors that I run at night for reduced flow.

Ive had a similar experience. i got two of these plus a controller as what i thought would be a hold-me-over solution but ended up keeping them. I set mine to 50% after blowing the flesh off a hydronia. I like how they are about 1/2 the size of my hydors.

Nice timing on this as I just decided to go with the current marine ic pro lights and this was part of the consideration. Too bad there isn't a night setting but I guess it can be set manually at night if needed. Do you have the lights as well? If so, what size and your opinion.

My Current USA pumps are stand alone and are plugged into a computer-style UPS for the battery backup feature. for lights I have two AI prime HDs that have their own program, clock, etc.

I absolutely love my 2100 gph waves.

How did you make the cable to use a backup battery?

With a UPS you just plug them into the outlets labeled "battery" and thats it. Thise outlets will auto-switch to battery during an outage and the UPS will beep loudly, alerting the user of failure.

Where did you get it from? I have been searching for a way to make my eflux waves hook up to a battery but I haven’t found anything

Any computer back up power supply will work. Just plug the back up supply into the wall and them plug the pumps into the battery backup outlets. You don't have to do anything more.

Just came across this thread...looking into the current orbit wave makers or a Tunze 6055 since both offer controllable flow.

Any thoughts/comments/suggestions on either unit??

Do you plan on integrating your pumps with a controller in the future?

Yes - the Current USA eflux and Tunze both have controlled flow, correct? Or when you say controller what do you mean? I’m still fairly new the hobby ;Bookworm

Current USA eflux and the lights. Built in controller for pumps and lights. And if you get one pump with a kit, you can hook up to 3 to the controller. I did that before I got the lights and the controller that came with it for everything. didn't get the dc pump though. Too expensive

I have 2 current wavepumps (1050s) along with dc pump connected to two marine ic pro led strips. i like the programability of the lights and the pumps connected together. U do have to clean the wavepumps every few weeks, i do notice decreased flow if u dont but im assumming thats the same for all pumps...

Personally I like the Current USA Eflux over Tunze. Performance between the two are very even, user friendly ( easy for a old guy like me to program) and lower cost. These are the reasons I tried them out and ended up buy 5 more. I have 6 of the 2100 eflux pumps running at 30% in my 240 and my corals, fish, and I love the flow.

Have you tried the new Bluetooth Controller yet? I was surprised by how easy it was to setup and how easy the app was to use. It's worth a try, I think you will be surprised as well.

Mine are still running like new as well. I clean all 8 I now have every 3 months. The first time taking them apart is a pain in the butt.

Does the UPS battery back up work with while using the Loop Bluetooth controller? Do you have all of your pumps plugged into the UPS or just a few? How long does the battery last while on the UPS?
