Current USA eFlux Wave Pump Kits

Big difference between Tunze and the Current is noise. The Tunze at 100% are silent, the eFlux aren't. I had a pair of the 1050gph eFlux working off of the controller on surge mode and the noise was very noticeable. From what it sounds like, the current 2000gph model is the only way to go because you can keep them at a low power %. Also, the Tunze use less watts.
I ended up returning the pair of Eflux and picked up a pair of Tunze 6045 and now my tank is dead silent. Last thing to mention that is different is the limited range of movement the current's have. You can only adjust them up and down. The Tunze fully swivel in their bracket so you can also go left to right with the direction of the flow.

Mine are still silent. Odd you have had an issue, but I think different people have different experiences. I run mine at 100% and I can put my ear next to them and not hear them like I can my TUNZE 6045 that I have in the corner. They are already controlled in my case by their controller. I may get a controller to monitor electricity usage. I also have not cleaned mine, but they are due soon. Too much coralline.

Quiet is relative and subjective. I personally have good hearing and am sensitive to noise. I complained about the fans on ATI light fixtures being too loud and many people said the same thing that they are quiet. Take it for what it’s worth.

Just a heads up to anyone that comes across this thread if you get the bluetooth controller the pumps now have a night mode where they automatically slow down at night. That was one of the biggest complaints I'd seen and current has listened and fixed it.

Thank you.

With a UPS you just plug them into the outlets labeled "battery" and thats it. Thise outlets will auto-switch to battery during an outage and the UPS will beep loudly, alerting the user of failure.
How long is the run time on the ups? Also which one did you purchase?

I have been a big fan of these pumps since they came out. Two days ago I moved my tank that had 6 of the 2100 gph waves in it to its new location next to my new build. Once I took the pumps off the back glass I found 4 of the 6 magnets looked like this!

These are less then a year old, the other two are the original ones I bought and seem to still be ok but they are all going in the trash as I’m not chancing it. Skimz has a new line out called SS so these are all now replaced with the new Skimz SS18.0’s which are 4755 gph connect to each other via a RF signal so you can have 1 master and 5 slaves and at a better price of $110 each from BRS

Hi all. gonna resurrect this thread. I have 2 of the smaller eflux wave pumps and I am having and issue with when they get a bit of build up on the impeller and/or the guard, the flow starts going out the sides and not the front. almost like the flow is reversing. anyone elese had this issue?

Also does anyone know if there is a better impeller for these things? like a 3 blade or something like that. maybe someone with a 3D printer have/could make?

I loved mine. Ran them with no issues for 3+years. They don't work on my new tank because of glass thickness ( and I needed larger ones anyway) so going to sell whole system now. Lights, 3 waves, DC pump, loop and controllers.
Big fan of current USA. Their support is top notch too
