Current USA Orbit LED Light

The box says for SPS corals you will need a supplemental light or more than one unit. Have any of you had a problem with the timer? I got mine from Amazon two nights ago and the light ran for about ten minutes then the timer died. Now the timer won't even light up. Still waiting to hear back from the company about a replacement timer.
Does your ramp timer light up with the blue background? If so then it has power. The settings can be tricky to figure out at first but once you know how the settings work it's pretty easy

Nope, no power at all. When I bypass the timer and plug the light directly into the transformer the light works, but the timer seems completely dead. No back light at all. I tried YouTube, Google, etc. and it looks totally dead. Couldn't find any way to fix it online. Took the housing off and didn't see any busted capacitors or broken wires, so I am just waiting on them to get back to me. The light worked for about ten minutes but the display on the timer wouldn't let me set the time. I'd hit enter to lock it in and it would just go back to Mode on the display. I gave up on the clock temporarily and thought I'd check out the presets. I hit M1 and it dimmed as expected. Then I hit reset and then tried M3. The light started flashing on and off and then died, along with the timer. Transformer and light still work, timer is dead as a doornail.

That's a shame. I'm sure they will send you out a replacement timer asap. Current has been around for a long time

I have a 36" on my 40 gallon set at 100% for whites and blues. Why did you lower the whites so much? Is it better for corals?

I mainly lowered my whites for the time being because I was getting an algae bloom from them being too bright. I'm slowly raising them back up every week

jusr curious if any of you are still using this light and having success? I have it currently and am considering moving to the pro model, either as full replacement of use them both. on a 50 gallon. I dont have any corals yet, really just wondering if adding the pro or changing to the pro model is really necessary? Thanks

No ! Save your $$$! I had 4 36", and took 1 off on my 180. The intensity is at 60%. I have all types of corals growing.
A happy tank is a bigger tank.

I have 2 on my 55 gallon and it is thriving.. One is not sufficient....Two is great. I would love to add a third.
I have a 55 gallon reef tank and I have one current usa light on mine my blues 60% whites 20% should I get another one
