Cyano bacteria

I have a quick question my whole tank water should be ro wAter or just salt mixing water?

Even yesterday my fishes going at the top of the tank and they are loosing their colour too.i searched online it happens due to high nitrates.i am really anxious and worried

Do you have a store near you that sells salt water already made?

Ill try to change 20% water change tomorrow hopefully it will break down a nitrate level.every one saying you should have a good flow but no one is telling that how can i do that.i just have one return sump pipe in my display tank.thats the only flow in my tank other than that i have nothing to make flow in my tank on the other hand paid alot for corals last month and they are not growing too.really saltwater is headache

Don't worry about flow for now just better water.

You can keep changing your water but with tap water you keep introducing nitrates and phosphates. You need more help than I can give. Have you gone to Randy's forum?

I have had really good luck with KZ cyano clean. Mine was gone in 2 weeks dosing it.

Yes. You should always make you saltwater with at least ro water but better yet ro/di water. It is the source of your problems right now.

Ok so basically when i mix a salt that water should be ro and then i can pour it in my tank which has tap water.am i right?

Gus6464 did you face any high nitrates issue?

No I decided to change out one of my T5 to 6400K Starcoat and 2 days after I did the cyano started. Although I think it might have been because my GFO depleted in my reactor. After it was gone from the cyano clean, it never came back.

Cyano is one of those things can happen just because.
