Cyanobacteria

Funny thing was. When I found out my salinity was super low with icp test. No3 was like 6 to 8 and po4 ranged from .03 to .05 and after my huge GHA outbreak it cleaned up and was spotless.

Then like 7 water changes later to fix salinity. Bam. This bad outbreak. So maybe gonna dose to get back to my old n and p

@Lasse as of today I got no3 to about 3ppm or so
Po4 is currently 15ppb. But drops throughout the day. This morning I dosed 3ml to get it there. I technically have to dose po4 multiple times a day to keep it up.

Alk.8.1 yesterday was 7.8. I havent dosed in a week or more it just froze.
Ca 430
Temp 77.2
Salinity 1.026

I blew the sand and rocks with a Turkey baster last 3 days. Did it this morning before work. With filter socks in. Settles back down on sand pretty quick. But I'll let keep no3 and po4 up and I guess just see what happens

I can’t say what the numbers should be but, for my tank, there is a need to get a balance between NO3 and PO4. Generally, my NO3 runs too low in relationship to the PO4 and when I raise it things get better. When I keep PO4 at .07 or less and NO3 10-15 corals grow and Cyano is in check.

I been dosing po4 to keep it in the tank as it drops. Also been dosing no3. Now no3 is 3ppm.
Po4 I try to keep at .05 but this morning it was only 2ppb so I just dosed .06 again.
I was at work for 16 hours last 2 days in a row so absolutely no Turkey basting aand or Rock and tank looks terrible. I don't see any sort of change for good with dosing no3/po4

I got rid of mine with Dr. Tims refresh and waste away. It was amazing

I have been looking at these products for a massive hairy algae outbreak I am experiencing. They sell 2 versions on their website, "Reef, Nano & Seahorse Aquariums" and "Saltwater Aquariums", how large is your tank, and which of the Dr. Tim products did you use? Also I use Chemi-pure Blue, if you use carbon did you keep it in your tank or remove it.

90g. Yes I left carbon in my tank. I did turn off the skimmer.
If you are just starting out dose 1/4 to1/2. If you start to see the tank turn cloudy turn on skimmer right away. These are bacteria and the tank turning cloudy is a bloom. This may deplete the tank of oxygen.

Been battling Red Cyano myself. Im trying not to use Chemiclean because last time I used it, sure it worked but then Dinoflagellates took over! So, this time Ive increased flow, do regular water changes, change socks daily and add Dr Tim's Waste Away. So far so good, its slowly disappearing.
