I test .25 on the api ammonia test kit yes my sechem ammonia dot reads 0.
IMHO with the dot reporting .05 you have ammonia.
perhaps the dosing is working with low ammonia but the cycle is just starting. and you will seen nitrItes then nitrates later
I would wait untill the dot returns to 0
