d2mini's "Essential Focus" Mixed Reef Build

Pretty excited to see you going the Triton way . However , what are your plans for feeding sps other than doing the Triton base elements based on the alkalinity ?
Also, wondering how about an algae scrubber instead of a refugium for people not having enough sump space with regards to Triton method . Afterall, its a way to export nutrients :)

Looks great! What are your thoughts on the possibility of the live rock containing unwanted hitch-hikers? In my last tank build I used real-reef rock to ensure my tank doesn't get any unwanted guests. What are your thoughts?

Thanks! :)
I'm not a big coral feeder. I add Oyster Feast to my Reef Frenzy and once in a blue I'll use some Reef Chili.
So no different plans this time around.

The "algae garden" with Triton is not only about nutrient export, but also about feeding the tank.
So a scrubber wouldn't really be doing the same thing.

I use TBS specifically because of all the hitchhikers.
It's an instant eco-system with more variety of life than you can get any other way.
The occasional gorilla crab or mantis is nothing compared to all the good stuff, and taken care of easily enough. :)

Looking terrific already Dennis.

I had just finished moving stuff around last night and took a few pics.

Here's a couple FTS.
The rocks look basically the same. I added a few more but it was mostly to fill a few holes, without changing the overall aquascape I had earlier.

Yesss, the beautiful amazing pictures begin! Looks great!

Great looking setup. If it were mine I would have to put glass doors on the stand.

is shipping included if I order the package? I love how the package made your tank achieve that mature age look when it only been set up after few week..

No, it's around $1/lb. Paid for in person when you pick up at the freight office.
The first 6 boxes cost me around $250 and the second set of 3 boxes cost me $125.
Even with shipping, the total cost per lb of rock is close to what you'd pay at most LFS for "mostly dead rock" and this includes all your sand, CUC, and all that fun colorful stuff.

Instant ocean, reef in a bag, reef-a-matic. Freakin Awesome bro. Sack-o-Sea lol I could go on but don't worry I won't. I thought last time you had such great stuff because you were there when it was collected, but this batch is just as mind blowing

LOL!
And I already have diatoms. What did that take? 5 days? :D

Hey some of those sponges would help with that, right?
I dunno if they help but its pretty much unavoidable. No big deal, it will clear on its own.
Usually I get a small bacteria bloom for a few days too. Haven't seen that yet.
