Damsel Mistake!

I saw some Stag Horn Damsels at my LFS, They look so peaceful & mellow ! LOL

Our damsel is a little sweetie. Honestly the most docile in the tank. We got lucky.

Hopefully joking...otherwise keep them. You could always make a tank that size an agressive tank. Eels, lionfish, pseudo chromis, etc. Damsels are not the worst just bullys there are definitely other options for fixing a mistake. We all do it then we learn.

Always heard dominos and four stripes are the most damsel of the damsels. They're a holes... I want a sapphire damsel. Chrysiptera springeri. Completely un-damsel. Perfect reef fish and they eat flat worms.
I love my sapphire damsel, beautiful fish and peaceful!

What is the big deal? I read everyday about "reefers" killing tanks full of fish do to poor husbandry and all I see is "I'm sorry for your loss"
Now some snowflake has the audacity about who belongs in this "hobby"
Bleeding harts are very fickle!

There is an incredible difference between trying to keep things alive and failing vs. purposely ending life due to one' s own ignorance.

Exactly, accidental death is WAY different than murder.

This is starting to sound like many threads where people ask about tangs in small tanks. Sometimes its for real, sometimes people just want others to get fired up. Sadly the OP is going to do what they want even if there are better options. We can chime in and tell them they are a bad person or not. We can give advice or suggestions. Hopefully the toilet never sees these fish, but we'll never know. The back and forth about it sadly doesnt seem to change anything. It just frustrates those of us that do care about these fish that often seem doomed just for being themselves. Im glad to know some of us care. To the OP and anyone else... Do your research before you make a livestock purchase and avoid the hassle of returning a fish or death of it or another "living" creature.

Sorry op, telling a bunch of fish nerds on a reef forum that you plan to murder the animals we strive to care for — not the right audience, ethics aside.

But seriously, re-home the fish please don’t kill them. I’m not a snowflake by any stretch of the imagination.

I am not saying to kill them by any means, I would much much prefer if you were to take them back to the lfs, but if you for some reason absolutely feel like you need to kill them at least do it some other quicker way or less extreme way than killing.
And that is coming from someone who is definitely no bleeding heart snowflake.
I just care about the hobby and, as everyone else here pretty much, doesn't exactly take kindly when someone says they are going to flush a fish because you didn't feel like reading up about exactly what you were getting.

Maybe I missed it, but what area do you live in? I'm betting a local reefer would have a sump those guys could live in, or at least be willing to come get them to trade at the lfs.

If I have to spend $60 on a trap, a trip across town ain't happening! They are dead just don't know it!
So because your freakin lazy and won't carry them back to the store, and so freakin stupid to not to do research BEFORE you buy your going to kill them??? ... I hope someone is saying the exact same thing about you!
And I don't care if my highly aggressive comment gets me kicked off this forum. I freakin HATE people with this kind of thinking.

a while back my wife spotted a neighbor on Nextdoor who had a bunch of fish in a bowl that they couldn't take care of. So we picked them up - 2 clowns, a firefish, an unknown crab, and a fire shrimp. I put them in my 10 g QT tank and then researched the crab. It turns out the crab was a small blue crab from long island sound (local shoreline). They get big and eat things. I put the crab in a the car (yes in water) and drove to the shore. I acclimated the cran and released it. I still have all the other fish and shrimp. All doing well and looking for a home. We are in this hobby to keep things alive not to flush things because we made mistakes. Do the right thing...

Use a water bottle trap, I've made a half dozen of them in my fish hobby career. Plenty of YouTube instructions on how to do it. Just don't feed for a couple days, then they'll be hungry enough to venture on in.

Hello
Sorry I'v been busy haven't had a chance to read some of the ideas. Thank you to the level headed replies! I have to admit I wont be able to kill them, I just got them regular with some feeding advice from one of the reefers on R2R. I may modify my fish list to accommodate.
I have to laugh though, a couple of the hysterical replies were too funny my god I hope they went straight to there safe place!
Honestly I love reefing and conceder it much more than a hobby but I have no problem killing menace creatures in my reef weather I put them in or they hitch in. I'm the top of the food chain! If a thing is harshing my karma their gone and balance is restored.
No body got my jab about the manajo, why didn't the sensitive reefers concern themselves about that? Reefers are killing pest regularly I have yet to hear anyone scream about killing rock! How long have live rock been on this planet teaming with life? Yea a lot longer than a couple damsels. How many of you bleached your rock and recommend it? That is a real tragedy!
Poor husbandry is no accident. I knew that would get a pass. No one has the guts to say STOP your an idiot a reef is beyond your depth you just killed some beautiful animals. I haven't killed a fish on accident and I have been called some ugly things. I like the car accident analogy. If you are a poor driver the crash is no accident.
Anyway I might kill a defenseless fish but I would never trash another human especially a fellow reefer a real reefer not someone I have to offer my condolences to!
:)
