Dark wet spot on Powder Blue tang

@305rob305 If I haven't mentioned this already, start soaking all of his food with a vitamin supplement: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/vitamins-herbal-remedies.304287/

The point is to boost the immune system to let it fight this off/help him heal naturally.
Hello Humble! I need your advice. So it turns out my PBT has some white spots. Strangely he's eatifine and absolutely no scratching or odd behaviors. He infected my yellow tang and red flame. My yellow was almost dead one day hovering on the sand but after 24hrs he's back and much better.... Eating lots of nori nit as active for sure. And my flame is doing perfectly fine except one spot on his head and a couple on his tail fin. If I start copper on all 3 in my qt, should I also qt my other fish? The rest of them are perfectly fine with zero signs of anything. Thing is I would have to buy another qt for the rest of them....

I would think that it is ick due to the few number of spots and the timeline. You have the option of quarantining all your fish or trying to manage it. If you quarantine then treat with meds or TTM and leave the display empty of fish for 76 days. If you try to manage feed often and feed nutritious food

I'm going to qt and treat with Cupramine and Prazi. At the store now buying a second 10g for the rest of the fish! Tks

Make sure to get the correct copper test kit for Cupramine. Seachem's kit works very well for me. Consider using API General Cure instead of Prazipro. It's dose of praziquantel is lighter and easier on the fish, plus you get a dose of Metro to rid the fish of any internal parasites. Best of luck with your fish.

Thanks... I got Salifert test for copper which I had already... I hear it's also good.

I also got a small HOB which I'm going to use with filter floss as my filter.... Good?

Yes, I have an use Salifert products as well. Good quality and pretty darn accurate.

Soak the floss or pad in Dr. Tims or Bio Spira for a couple of hours in a bowl topped off with enough tank water to completely submerge the filter material. When done soaking, pour the liquid into the tank.

Is there any room in your HOB for a small bag of something like this? Really helps ammonia control in a qt.

I have that but that won't remove the meds especially the copper?
Great question. Humblefish and I have been experimenting with this type of filter media. We have so far found that it does not remove copper from the water column. I have some in a qt right now on day 6 of therapeutic copper levels of Coppersafe and its working perfectly. Haven't found any need to add copper and the water quality has been much better than I've experienced in the past. Ammonia levels have been zero with 5 gal water changes on a 20 gal every 5 days with 6 med to small fish in the tank.
Here's the thread. Join the conversation if you decide to use the additional filter material: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/seachem-matrix-for-qt-use.363132/#post-4496705
