All seem to the acclimating okay, the Acropora could be doing better though it appears to be pretty stressed still.

Thanks. What are the stress signs you are seeing? I'm new to sps. Reading the theory and identifying the signs are two very different things I'm realizing.

They look fine to me :) whats the green one? New frag tank?
Yes it's new. I can't remember the name of it. I'll try to remember to ask again when I go back in on Friday. The red acro is dragon something (dragon breath?). There is a hammer. And then two different mushrooms.

From aquaSD? I think I saw that red one there a week or two ago

Looks like a red dragon. they look fine to me, but with any coral only time will tell.

The dragon might be a bit pale, but this is not uncommon with freshly moved stuff.

The Chalice looks fine.

Just be on the lookout for fast changes, lightening of color or white/dead spots appearing.

Ok. The red dragon looks lighter still. I'm concerned it is not getting enough light. I'm using 2 t5 bulbs over a 29ga. 6hr photo period. I just changed the time to 8hrs. Is this enough? Should I raise it closer to the light? I don't want to burn the mushrooms it hammer either. I could use separate risers for them. I have plenty of flow. Anything stronger and they will tip over.

This is a Coral & invert quarantine tank. Main tank is 75ga with 40 sump. These are my first coral.

I have a finnex Ray 2 daylight led I could add. It's for plants but maybe it's work until I can afford something better for this?

I don't want to overreact with quick changes and make it worse. Please advise.

Also I have a hammer that is not opening up still. I spot fed it a small shredded shrimp last night. It took it. Today it is a little less tight but still closed. It was open nicely in the store.

red dragons are bit hard to keep. Its ok to have less light during acclimation. STN/RTN are more immediate concerns, check the bottom of the frags, and see how to tissue there doing, receding or increasing. Dont worry about the color, it may turn little darker for some time but once new growth kicks in they'll show their stable colors in your tank.
for me they are very slow grower ...

I would get a 2 bulb setup up to 10 or 11 hours. If you do not have much light, you can help by running them for longer.

Can you take the glass off where the light is? This will help to.

Get the nitrate , ph, alkalinity and calcium values out as well, they’ll be handy.

Adding to water pramameters (need to know what they are), what t5 bulbs are you using? How long has your frag tank been up and running?

Thank you. So you think the amount of light I'm using is ok?
In my experience, RD LOVES light and flow.. my RD was 18" across and 12" wide. It grew right to the top of the water line.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the RD is a deep water acro and doesn’t “need”the 300+ a General acro needs.
So the other generalist corals in the tank should be ok with an increase in light or duration as reccomeded.

I have had CITR Red Dragon under 600+ PAR and it thrives, but it gets monochrome and loses the whiteish-blue tips. I have also seen it do OK under 150 PAR. 200-300 seems to be a sweet spot for growth and the color with the tips being different than the body.

I will also point out that there are literally a dozen different types of "Red Dragon" that come in from AQ land... they are close, but not the same as CITR.... not as red and not all of them get the whiteish/blueish tips.

This stuff grows like crazy for me. I give away and sell a ton of it and about half of the people kill it. It is not a super-easy SPS, but it sure can take off when it is happy.

Agree. It’s a deep water acro, but I have seen corals grow in captive setting in myriad of ways ... definitely red dragon under 300 par. Mine one started showing growth only after I moved it to high light, high flow areas. Very slow grower for me, can be due to small size of my tank (I use a 29g biocube without sump/refugium )
