DC Pump Users

Keep in mind a lot of people have had issues running the Jebao pumps externally and the manufacturer actually recommends internal only. I know of one guy personally who is using a Jebao externally without issue, but they're not designed to be run this way. Just a thought.

I've been running a dc12000 externally on my skimmer since February. Zero issues

I would go with a reef octo or waveline if you want to get another. Why waste the money again on a jabao?

They are all the same and made by the same factory in China there is no difference between them.

I have owned several and all are whsper quiet..
I have had one die and was quickly replaced by RLSS..
Knock on wood my skimmer one has been running for a long time no issues.

How did everyone connect there jebao return,,, flexible tubing. Or PVC hard plumb?

I actually plumbed my tank with Spa Flex.

This is when I was testing my plumbing:

I attached my pump to the plumbing with a 1.25" union so I could take it off easily.

Installed another Jebao DC12000 tonight and it's much quieter but not silent. I measured before and after and this one is 6 decibels quieter...

Mine is going external. I've seen it done and I sent jebao a message and they responded that it would be fine.so I'll run one on both sides to cleaning and removing easy

Awesome! Glad they cleared it. I think I read on the box it wasn't recommended, but they must have fixed the issues since I bought mine last fall.

I got confirmation that Fish-Street will be sending me a replacement for my original one with agreement to send them back my current one. Hope the replacement is quiet as other's pumps are.

My plan is to run it for at least a month and see if it quiets up. If not, I'll probably just order a Diablo or a Speedwave and sell the Jebao...

We shall see... I had to send them $40 to ship me a new one and then I'll supposedly get the money back when they receive my pump back...

That's better than them saying you have to send it in first and then they'll send the replacement, I think.

I agree. They have been great to work with. Fingers crossed I get a "silent" pump this time around. The one I got must have been built on a Friday and the one I'm currently using must have been built on a Monday. Let's hope for a mid-week pump. LOL
