Wow, I never would have thought of that. Thats brilliant. I'm definitely going to look into that. I'm completely still undecided on what I want this tank to be as far as coral go. I'm in between doing like a Euphyllia dominated tank or just go for a full on SPS tank which I've never done.
Euphillia are lovely. Makes a tank look sooo good, and they're not that picky. Maybe an SPS or 2 near the top to see how it does?

Honestly, thats probably what's going to end up happening. Going to start as a Euphillia dominated tank and as the tank matures in like a year or so, maybe add like a monti/stylo and see how they do and just keep slowing adding and see how it goes. One thing I'll say is Euphillia prices have went astronomical!! Back when I had my 180g I could easily get any torch I wanted for like $50-100 max. Now I'm seeing torches are min $300 a head and go all the way to $1500!

I'm not a name chaser, I was back then, now I'm not, don't care at all what the coral is named as long as it looks good and is healthy, but man I might not be able to even do Euphilla lol.

How are the Urchins for you? I had a single one in my old 180g tank, never really seen him do much though. Granted that 180g tank was a zeovit tank. Been honestly debating if I want to get 1 for this Waterbox tank.
They are great. I take one out every month or so and put it in my 45 frag/lagoon system.
You need plenty of coralline as thats all mine eat.
I just took these.

This hobby can be great for patience building...Or it can be the opposite, DISASTROUS and have quite the opposite effect !

I wouldn't say it was Disastrous for me last time on my 180g, I was impatient and lost quite abit of coral for it. Never really lost fish besides a mandarian (never realized how many pods you needed for a mandarian), but being a zeovit tank and a larger tank, it became to much for me. Reason I'm alot smaller this time :)

So I've promised myself on this build I'm currently doing (in my sig) that I'm going to take it extremely slow and let it mature. I'm going to hold to that as well. With that being said, I'm only doing like 1 fish a month and not going to add coral until like month 3-4. Etc. Super Slow, just the way I want to do it.

So the question is, what do you do with your time while you are waiting?

I'm personally already looking at getting another tank and building a list of what I want (Don't tell my wife). Thinking of getting a Nano tank to use as a grow out tank and honestly just want a nano. Wife is going to kill me Lol.
Gotta treat time as if a luxury. Any down time, first make a list, what's next. Auto top off, diy frag racks, setting up ro/di filter system, what's the budget....some examples. As soon as you slack off, your tanks going to tell you. If you can think of it like a business, that time is money. You get the point . You don't waste time.

Well then you're at the right place, because folks will be glad to share their frags. In the right water, torches grow FAST. Can't frag enough.

100% agree. 1 slight problem maybe someone can help me with. What can you do to fix the problem of the List outweighing the bank account and avoiding a divorce??? lol. I've got enough ideas/lists to last me 50 years. Eventually want to do a 300g DD FOWLR Emp Angel tank.

Better pics of Steve, turned my LED whites briefly so I could get a couple photos

Beautiful!
I have a regular in my 120 and a pair in my lagoon/frag tank.
Just took this one.
The back wall was just cleaned by one of the urchins.
It hosts the frogspawn.

Oh thats a fact! My wife once asked me after like a year of my 180g being up and running how much it had all costed to build that setup. I promtly made up an excuse to run to the store and avoided her for the rest of the day! lol

Gorgeous!!! Yea I plan on getting another - I messed up and thought I had ordered a bonded pair only to find out I only got Steve! Granted Super happy with Steve, VERY healthy and active - immediately wanted Brine shrimp, doing amazing.

But now I have to learn on my own how to bond a pair of clowns. Not something I was planning on doing, but hey new experiences right?

Just get one half his size and then steve will be the small one and you can rename her lol.
