Past the dial, basically the whole thing. Had a 50w cook itself overnight with just the slender element portion submerged.
Well, mine was submerged till the bottom of the temp "dial" and it cooked, so I have to assume the temperature probe is higher up, thus it could not register when to shut off. The little picture on the back does show a check mark at completely submerged.they have to be 100% submerged at all times?
I ran a 100w for a few years and always kept the water at the top of the round part with the temperature lights. I think that is what BRS is referring to as the bezel. I never had a problem running it at that depth.
