Dendronephthya & Scleronephthya aquaculture

So, while I'm waiting on some more dendronephthya colonies. After almost two years of trial and error, here's where we're at.

Flow and filtration are the main key for these corals. These corals eat almost anything, I've notice.
These are a must:
1. Good laminar flow
2. DE filtration, considerable help in filtration
3. Mineral mud, Fiji mud, miracle mud, a must
4. Programmable doser pumps
5. Oversized skimmer
6. Barebottom tank
7. Dead dry coral rock, or live rock
8. System to divert DE filtration while pumps are on

Foods
1. Reef Nutrition or Algagen
2. Any protein food in flour form, seafood base best. Ex. Reef Roids, freeze dry,
3. Fresh whole shrimp, squid, oysters, fish, etc...
4. Some raw egg

Chiller at Backwoods Lab couldn't keep up. Moved what survived 3 chili corals ,3 knucklebone corals. Some snails CUC

Recieved 3 dendrophillia, 2 nice blk sun corals. Better pics coming

Finally, add final piece to my creation. Tonight add 2nd DE filter. It filters just before going into DT. From 1-10 this is an 8. My final masterpiece still to come. Need more space.

Ok, a vendor just called me has two dendronephthya colonies. Coming back from LA, the vendor. Good size, his words. Can't wait.

because I have no lights on when I'm not viewing the tank and tank is covered most of the time. I get very little algae bloom,especially the wrong type.
My vendor carries only miracle mud, I wish they had Fiji mud

What was the temperature that you were going for?

I recently saw a BBC Special that showed a deep water reef off the coast of Norway. Apparently, the Gulf Steam carried spores and food to Norway?

Temp. 76°, chiller was inside, then when real high Temps came move to outside. Just some snails left. Need to grab.

I heard of corals by Norway too. I read on net BBC alot

Doing a water change with real ocean water about 50% water change. also picked up this nice Sun Coral from Australia looks pretty healthy.
