Diamond Goby...making water cloudy...was this a mistake...???

When I first got into the hobby I made this mistake. Mine would do exactly what you are talking about and the clouds would never fully settle. I also kept coral on the sand and near the bottom of the rocks and the goby would dump sand all over them. It was a hard fish to catch but I removed it and took it back to the LFS and I have never bought another one. Great fish if you are looking to keep your sand clean and not keep corals on the sand. I could see this fish being wonderful to have in a FWLRO system.

I absolutely love my diamond goby. Turns over sand like a madman. However, as other said I would avoid the really fine sand. I used carib sea arginine sand and I feel like that was the best option for me overall.

It will get better once the finer dust particles gets filtered out, however, it's not going to be like it was before the goby. My goby would scoop sand, swim a few inches up, then just lets all the sand fly everywhere, boy was it messy. LOL. I was gonna get rid of my DW goby due to sandstorm (3 months later), but he got lucky when I upgraded tank, and got the right sand this time:) Good luck!!
I don’t plan to upgrade my tank anytime soon and wanted to know how were you going to go about trading in your goby or rehousing him?
