i have a 4 stage marine Depot Ro/di which has been upgraded with the brs upgrade kit ( tds meter and gauge) so today I was trying to install the flush valve which seemed simple enough.. just to add it between the waste line and remove the flow restrictor..

So what I did was get the waste line out and when I went to remove the thing I believe is the flow restrictor ( some black hose thing attached to the picture.. I also had to remove a piece inside which got stuck and ultimately I think I removed too much because my Rodi now sprays from the waste output elbow.

What should I do now?

That's your flow restrictor (that's laying on the ground), but you installed another flow restrictor when you installed your flush kit (its the white piece that is between the yellow tubing. Which part exactly is the unit leaking from?

yup. need a new flow restrictor.

however, you should be able to operate the unit without the restrictor. so it sounds like something else is wrong.

He still has a flow restrictor does he not? The white piece with the flush and closed flush valve between the yellow RO/DI tubing is a flow restrictor...

RO/DI still confuse the hell out of me so I am asking partially for my own knowledge as well.

the flow restrictor is the thin tube and the white plastic fitting. it’s broken.

Yes the flow restrictor I had to remove, to install the new one with the flush valve. My problem is my Rodi is leaking at the elbow where stuff is connected. Lol hence why my floor was all wet

which elbow?

the flow restrictor goes inside one of the flush tubes.

There are 2 types of flow restrictors, one that goes in the line (what the OP had) and one that goes in-line (what the OP now has)! https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/membrane-flush-valve.html View the link as someone else posted above. You can get a replacement elbow at Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace, etc. https://www.homedepot.com/p/John-Gu...PIPHorizontal2_rr-_-300753459-_-300753456-_-N Probably damaged the internal seal.

Could be the elbow is damaged or not screwed in enough but If a connector or elbow is leaking it’s likely the tube you push in to make the seal is rough. Get a razor and Cut a lil off to get a nice clean connection

Your old flow restrictor went inside the tube. Your new one goes outside and has a flush valve incorporated. But think you got that already.
Important. Your picture shows the flow restrictor open/in flush mode. Turn valve against the tubing to make product

Is it spraying from where the elbow screws into the RO or from where the 1/8 tubing goes into that elbow?

Just noticed the O-ring in one of your pics. That is why it's leaking. You might be able to get it reinserted. Pull the hose back out and pop the clip out of the fitting. The O-ring fits in a groove down in the fitting.

Here's a pic with the clip removed, you can see the O-ring near the bottom.

yup not all the photos loaded on my phone. those in-line ones tend to have more problems.

It sprays from the spot the waste line enters that elbow.
