How did this end up for you. I am following the same treatment plan and will be wrapping my tank up tonight. I am super nervous about it.

Couple of questions for you

Did you feed your fish during the blackout?
How did you ensure that the water was not getting cloudy per dr tims instruction?
Did you run your UV when you turned your skimmer back on?

I did not feed the fish during the blackout but fed them really well before the blackout.
As far as checking the water for clouding, I checked the sump and it was clear. I was not worried about a little cloudiness but a major bac bloom would have shown in the sump and would have been dealt with.
I have not used my uv since completing treatment.
It seemed like it worked the first go around but I did two rounds of Dr. Tim's just to be proactive.

fighting what I think is Prorocentrum myself. I included
Pictures. Please confirm. I am reading and watching videos like a mad woman. This in my little 4g pico. I’m upgrading to a 22g with a. Sump but can’t til I get this under control. FINALLU THE nitrates are 20 and po is .086. Finally. Has been low nitrates. 0-1. And pho’s at 0.02 or lower. Phew. Plan to siphon and 3 day black out and then I have already been doing mb7. 460 and waste away. But I have refresh coming tmr too.
Would welcome ideas to move to the 22g already plan to do a freshwater and then a h2o2 dip on zoas and couple corals
In lost my Acro I have 2 monti tank is 2 months I ran it toooo clean Love and learn

I read these stories and can usually point to a microbial imbalance in the system as the cause. Typically this starts as a new tank that gets cycled, has super low nutrients and then gets the “uglies”. Sometimes this is a nasty infestation of dinos which remains especially if the tank stays “too clean” for a prolonged period of time. For most of us, we cycle our tanks, the nutrients fall, we get lazy or add too many critters and the nutrients rise. Enough bacteria is hanging around from the initial cycling and takes advantage of the influx of nitrates & phosphates and simply outcompetes dinos or cyano into oblivion. So look at the fix here. It’s typically increasing nutrients so they’re more conducive to growing bacteria and then adding a bacterial culture to take advantage of the favorable conditions. In a nutshell: Get dinos - get N&P above 10ppm & .05 - dose bacteria - bonus for dosing a bit of vinegar/vodka/nopox - dinos gone in a week or two and won’t come back if N > 3ppm & P > .03ppm.

recommended amount for carbon source? I think i am winning on dinos. will remeasure tonight and tmr when refresh comes I am siphoning all I can at sunset and then 3 day black out and then hopefully i will really win.

ANY suggestions on making the change to the 22g ( with sump?). I have zoas, a baby hammer and a couple montiporas? ALL will algea and dino. hopefully not chrysto... I will brush all that is on the rocks and coral ( as much as possible off too tmr night after siphoning and I will run this through the 10 micron sock I have and put back in the water~~~. I really dont wnat to add dino to new tank but I am sure there is some on everything we add.

I was thinking a temp stabilized RODI dip for each coral for 15 sec. then hydrogen peroxide for 2-3 min. then rinse in fresh SW>. of course. all temp stabilized.... and then for the 4 piece of LR i have. ( about 6 pounds). what can I do?

I would love a little hand holding. I have been researching for 3 weeks on this... OMG. I dream about dino stuff nd bought that microscope. too. it is proc dino right?

I have a lot of algae on the rock. it does blow off or tooth brush off. its bothering corals. I hope its not chyrstoi on top of prorocentrum.
my plan is to do 3 day black out after siphoning tonight. I am so confused. some say dose the MB7 and other say not too... UGH

SO I went nuclear on my poor little PICO... I siphoned all the sand and then scraped the glass and siphoned it. I dipped every rock and coral ( lots of zoas in the H2)2 for 2 min and then swished in SW wash then back into the bucket I was siphoning water from tank through a 10 micron sock and returned the water to the tank. I dosed a 1/4 cap of refresh from Dr tim and dropped in an airstone and covered the tank for 3 days will dose the refresh and PRAY>>>>. I am SOOOO tired of reading about dino.

I think I dream about them I got a microscope and 99.9% sure I have prorocentrum. and then GHA

I HAVE NO CUC.... I got rid of them or they died.

When should I retrun them and what might I expect? 4g pico ( 3 g water with a clown firefish and yellow clown goby ( I am growing onto a 22g as we speak so the clown and firefish will relocate. as will the clown goby so please dont bash the fish I know and they will be moving asap/. ( hopefully 1-2 weeks.). Additionally. water parameter. 0.277 phos. 25 nitrates. alk is 12. (it was 13. (dosing with ato kalkwasser. I now have diluted the top off by half)). 1.025. temp 78.5. mag was over 1500. ca 480. but will be bringing all this inline with a nano NOT a pico. Im not good enough for a pico... I would welcome any other advice....
