do phosphate and nitrates have to be completely down for you to get dinos? i currently have some nasty brown/red stuff growing in my sand and rock but i’m getting a nitrate reading of 10 and last time i tested phosphate was on the 28th and got a 0.07 reading

The water is pretty cloudy, could be diatoms, he could get a small cheep uv sterilizer from amazon and see. I've had insane problems with dinos and this does not look like it

Yes dino's go walkabout at night, which is why UV sterilisers are effective against them.

the right side is clean because of the jawfish keeps stirring the sand on his side of the tank

ah okay, do you have any nassarius snails?

only 3 trochus but the only stay on the rock and 3 hermits that stay hidden

I would suggest getting some nassarius snails, they consume diatoms and help keep the substrate turned over

If it’s diatoms, they feed on silicates. Is your tank new? New sand? Did you rinse The sand? Diatoms will go away on there own. Other source of silicates is In your top off water. is your RODI at 0 TDS?

Look up the coffee filter test. It’s one way to check if it’s Dino.
