Disease ID and quarantine

Well, I placed the order last night. The GC round will be done on Monday, so I probably won't have them by then. I think the only thing I can get locally is erythromycin.

Erythromycin is a good antibiotic, but it only treats gram positive infections. So, limited coverage.

Well, Murphy is dead:( (The name my wife gave the Marine Betta).

I notified the supplier, and hopefully when they ship me the replacement Fedex won't screw the pooch this time.

On a brighter note though, the Wrasse is eating and exploring the tank. Even went over and made the acquaintance of the clowns, lol. They handled it pretty well.

Now that it's being more active, I'm able to more closely examine it, and it's looking pretty good. Nice colors and a pretty healthy overall appearance. I just wish the Murph could've made it. I'm hoping M2 will have a much higher success rate.

I'm sorry for your loss, but it's good news about the wrasse!

Yes, he gave me a real close look at him earlier. It's hard to tell because he's so small and multicolored, but it does look like he lost some scales. I've read ammonia burn can do that, so I'll hit him with some Furan-2 when I get it, but in the meantime he's eating and exploring so I don't feel like I need to be worried.

Do you have a QT procedure you use for new fish and Would GC and KanaPlex be 2 to stock for QT.

You didn't ask me, but I'll answer anyway. I run all my fish through Tank Transfer Method (TTM) coupled with Prazipro. Then observation in the QT for a couple weeks before adding them to the DT. This way if I spot anything else that needs to be addressed I can do that before exposing the new fish to the others in the DT. In my medicine cabinet I currently have: General Cure, Copper, Prazipro, Metroplex, Kanaplex, Furan 2 and Focus. I've had to use all of these at one time or another during QT.
