Its best to increase copper levels over 2-3 days splitting doses AM/PM as copper is toxic.

i would do as Patho suggest and especially read Brooklynella as what you described the clown looked cloudy before open wound Classic Brook as the skin films off sores appear. Also know as clownfish disease but other fish get carry as well. Wiped out my tank. Most quickly. Just my thought
