Hey guys, one of my friend doses diy 2 part using this formula.. its 2 part instead of 3..

Part1:
Calcium chloride 350grams + 50grams magnesium chloride + 25 magnesium sulphate + 2 grams strontium.. all these irons are against alk reducer agents.. so I mix them keep in 500 grams jag.. I mix 14 spoons in 5 liters of water thts last for a week.. dosing in auto doser every 30 minutes once 10 ml. So the dosing goes for 24 hrs..

Part2:
Alk same sodium bicarbonate 350 grams + + sodium carbonate 150grams thts the ratio for alk.. again. Dosing 10 ml every 30 mins once .. for example if calcium dosed at 9 clock 10ml .. 9.30 alk 10 ml will b dosed.. so all time my tank receives calc and alk.. so your coral gets use to it. Even it's a major hike you have time to react.

Is this ok?

No, I do not think you can put the magnesium sulfate into the calcium part. You'll precipitate calcium sulfate.

That's why designed it as a three part. :)

Commercial two parts use other sources of sulfate and put it in the alk part.

Thank u... any idea what does seachem reef builder and reef adv calcium uses? As both have mag and sr.

? To make each part with the measurements given all that is need is a gallon of RO water for each part

I have been think of switching from brs 2p

Lol see not the chemist lol do I already have everything that I need ? But just need to mix it the was you explained it ? Also can I still add my balling trace like I did with the other mix ?

Sorry for all the ? Really wanting to try this.

Can these be used ?

You can certainly add additional trace elements if you believe them useful.

I'm not sure exactly which product you are talking about adding, but the full Balling method assumes you are not adding magnesium or sulfate with the calcium and alkalinity, and yet the DIY recipe adds both of these already in the proper proportion. So just be sure you are not overdosing these, These are certainly not considered trace elements, however. :)

FWIW, BRS is my DIY adapted to chemicals they have available for sale. :)

Nanomania don't get confused check randy two part it very simpler and easy and it work perfectly. I don't know where you find this formula.

Yes, those are the ingredients for a decent DIY two part, and I'd use the volume measurements they prescribe. :)

That part I know [emoji23] was wondering if I can use it to make the new mix with the mag mixed in the two part.

Hope I'm not bothering you just don't want to get it wrong

If you are referring to the recipe in the link I posted above, that recipe requires sodium sulfate, which BRS does not sell, AFAIK. I get sodium sulfate from here: http://www.dharmatrading.com/chemicals/glaubers-salt.html

If, on the other hand you are asking about the recipe in the original post, then I would refer you to the very first reply.

@Randy Holmes-Farley I have some esv 2 part would like to know if it's stronger than brs reason for asking is I want to give it a try and if it is stronger how much less should I dose if I'm dosing 58ml of each with the brs how much would I dose with the esv to get the same goal
