DIY rapid led layout

Ok so in two weeks I will be placing a order for my rapid leds with the group buy was wondering how to go about finding out the best layout for your leds for your tank I have been tinkering with layouts and ever created a template for myself and made 40 copies so I wouldn't run out I am going with 12RB, 8CW, 4UV, 1RED, and 1GREEN the royal blues and the red and green will be controlled on one driver the cool whites will be on a driver by themselves and the UV's will be on a separate driver as will giving me just a little more control on color so far this layout is what I have ....lay it to me straight don't hold back and also all LEDs will have 80degree lenses on them all

I would put the red and green with the whites because they will take away color from your actinics.

Did you get the "Glue on " Lenses from Rapid Led?

It's the LEDs you use thermal paste and I'm getting a drilled and tapped heatsink

I meant different dimmers, sorry. But yes, you want them close as well.

Oh ok lol ok I get ya now and ok yea that makes sense ill put the red and green on the whites than good looking our thank you

My red and green are not together, the overall look is great but you can definitely see right where the green hits the rock in the upper parts of the tank.

Also my colors are on the same channel as my blues, I wouldn't say it takes away from the actinic look at all, most people who have seen it so fast have loved it.

Mine are modeled after Acan lighting leds.

And here they are with whites @ 30% and blues/colors @ 60%

Everything is doing great! Our task is primarily zoas, I started with 2 VDMs and now I have like 8 babies in 5-6 weeks.

That started add 5 polyps 6 weeks ago.

I started with 8 Sunny D's and now have 24 polyps even after fragging 4 off 6 weeks ago.

Nice I'm going to have a mixed Reef in a 20L so I'm thinking I should be able to grow just about anything

If you got your LEDs from Rapid you DO NOT want to put your red and green with your whites. Unless I am missing something or you plan on under powering your whites, the ma are different for the red/green and white and you will over drive or blow your red/green when you turn that string up.

They have a pretty good layout on their site if you look under LED university or something like that.

you think if put the red and green with the UVs instead that might be a better option? since the 4 UVs will be on their own driver and the UVs aren't as overpowering?
