Do copepods survive a return pump?

I've been trying to research this and can't find much info. I'm sure there's some death involved, but what percentage of pods survive a return pump and make it back to the display tank from a sump, HoB refugium, etc?

There is an additional point to consider: baby copepods. Theses are microscopic and would likely be less effected by the shear forces encountered inside of a pump,

Good point. And obviously they do survive the transfer as there are people who keep a refugium in their sump or whatnot and end up with them in the display. Just a thought I had now that I'm considering an external HoB refugium instead of the one currently in my AIO

When I add Copepods to my refugium I do it during feeding, with the pump off, so they have a chance to tuck themselves out of the way. With the pump on post feeding I definitely see live pods in the DT being shot out of the return nozzles.

My pumps run continuously, a reeflo hammerhead at 6000gph and a ampmaster dolphin at 6500gph. Never dosed the display with copepods. Dosed the sump with algaebarns 5280 pods and ecopods roght after cycle with dead rock done. Had plenty of live pods in the display. Still have plenty. They survive just fine
