Do fish sleep and why are they always hungry?

Do fish sleep? They certainly do. I scuba dive. On a night dive, you get to witness, the changing of the guard. Most fish are diurnal. They are active during the day and sleep at night. Fish will seek out places to hide and go to sleep at night. Parrot fish secrete mucus coverings for when they sleep. A diver needs to be careful not to shine a bright light on a fish. A fish can wake up and leave its sanctuary making it vulnerable.

At night, the crustaceans: crabs, shrimp, lobster etc, come out and are impressively active.

sounds awesome, got any videos?

Ever seen a real water polo team train, try to picture this, you're in the water it looks like you're standing up with your hand straight up to the sky and you're only using your legs to move from one end of olympic size swimming pool to the other end, not able to touch the bottom of the pool cuz it's deep, going back and forth for hours. That's as close as we can get to the energy fish put out moving around so no wonder they have to sleep, to get their energy back and eat of course.

but fish dont have to support their weight by swimming and are so streamlined and slippery, and their fins are made to push water, i feel like that analogy isnt quite right lol
